An 88th Birthday Sonnet for Grammy

Courageous Blooms
A Sonnet for My Grandmother on her 88th Birthday

I see the diligent care that you take,
To adorn us with warmth, wonder and grace.
A love that blooms in the trials we have faced,
Showers gratefulness in the feats we make.

I read from my heart our stories we share.
Learning courage by the roar of the sea,
Notice how a splash has an effect on me,
You confer, “Go on, do great things out there.”

In reverent awe, we walk through gardens,
Seeing your beautiful smile, my heart soars,
In your comforting arms our family grows,
Just as our joy in adventure strengthens.

Grammy, I love you and you are really fun,
I am highly blessed to be your grandson.

Happy Birthday!
